Highlights of your life since graduation:
After HS spent 2 years at U. of I. (Navy Pier) and 5 years at Roosevelt U. Majored in economics with BSBA . Then 2 "wonderful" years in the Army. With one year in Vietnam. April 1969-70. That year was the most perilous but most rewarding. Then worked for many finance outfits as bookkeeper and margin analyst. Merrill Lynch, Dean Witter, EF Hutton and Rodman& Renshaw. Lately looking for a retreat in Cedar Key, FL or Pompano Beach, Fl to escape the Chicago winters, if I win the lotto. Looking forward to meeting "long lost" classmates at the reunion. |

Memories or anything else you'd like to share:
From my years at SSHS cannot forget three teacers I remember most. Col. Applegran, Miss Annan with the "chicken foot", and Mr. Cobb who taught civics and US history like we were reliving it. Col. Applegran's booming voice and how he got me (and others) to climb the rope to the ceiling and down. I still hear him yelling "goldbricker" to the slackers. Cannot forget trying to sing for Miss Long and ranting from phy-sci teacher Miss Albright. |

Wonderful family, 3 daughters ( all very successful), 2 great son-in-laws one stinker, and a great wife!Went to Med school, got a PhD and an MBA also. Medical researcher and executive for 25 years with the multi-national pharmaceutical and medical device industry.Got fed up with "corporate America" and started my own corporation. Wanted a little company, but it got "out of hand" and my wife and I own a worldwide corporation with locations in Canada, Europe ( UK and Turkey), and Asia( India and Hong Kong). Awarded a bunch of patents, saved a few lives from the discoveries, and still enjoy living to the fullest while traveling the world! Still occasionally teach post-doctorate courses at Med Schools in the US, Canada and Europe. |

Nerds really do succeed in life...I know , I was one of them. Who would have thought! Had great memories of the friends I hung around with, the AZA, and all the young women in our class I wanted to date, but never had the nerve to ask them out. Looking forward to seeing all of us that have aged gracefully and those that haven't. |

Highlights of your life since graduation: After leaving South Shore, I attended Wilson Junior College and was president of the choir. It was at Wilson Junior college where I met my future wife, Sheila Rush. After receiving an Associates of Arts Degree, I worked at South Shore Country Club. I then took a job at Alden's mail order as a receiving clerk. The Selective Service called for me, but sent me home with a 4Y rating. This meant that I wasn't going to be called except for a national emergency or war. (Vietnam was not considered a war yet). After being denied a management position at Alden's because I could still be called for the draft, I went back to school. I attended Chicago Teachers College. After graduation in the fall of 1967, I began my teaching career at Bright Elementary School in Chicago. In 1968, I married Sheila Rush who had also graduated to became a teacher as well. We had three children together, Robert Jr., Colleen, and Michael. In 1998, my wife passed away after a long fight with breast cancer. I retired from teaching in 2001. In my spare time I enjoy singing karaoke, gardening, and fishing. I also cherish the time I can now spend with my two grandchildren, Korey and Cody. |
