John Barham

Obituary:
JOHN BARHAM OBITUARY

Barham, John

John Barham, age 78, of Tinley Park. He will be greatly missed by his loving daughter, Bridget; brothers Michael (Nancy) Barham and Fred (Maureen) Barham; sisters-in-law Anita Butler and Maureen Fleming. He will be fondly remembered by his five nieces, including his goddaughter Erin (John) Day and Cathaleen (Dan) Novak; 13 great nieces and nephews with a very special and close bond with Mia, Natalie and Tommy Day; and many dear, close friends.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 51 years, Janet (nee Butler); his mother Lanore (nee Slattery) and nephew Matt Barham.

After graduating from South Shore High School, John proudly served four years in the Air Force as a staff sergeant. He drove for Sinclair Gas for 10 years making him the go-to guy to call for directions anywhere in the city and suburbs. He was a volunteer fireman/fire chief in Riverdale and superintendent of Riverdale Public Works for 32 years. Following his retirement, he enjoyed driving the sports team bus for St. Laurence High School.

John never met a stranger he didn't know. He was an avid fisherman, golfer and Northwestern football fan – hosting some of the best (self-proclaimed) tailgates for 20+ years. But he may be best known for his love of St. Patrick's Day – his, Janet and Bridget's annual parties are legendary and brought together family and friends from near and far.

Roger Bogin

Obituary:
Sharon Silverman - August 6th, 2011
Roger's smile and warm, loving ways are a beautiful memory.  Sorry I didn't stay in touch over the years, but I remember him fondly.
Carla Kelson - June 26th, 2011
Loosing Roger is a profound sadness. His warmth and constancy brightened so many lives.
Mary Livingstone Huske - May 26th, 2011
Roger was such a fun guy.  Over the years he used to call me every now and then from Michigan.  I really enjoyed those calls.  Now I know why they stopped.
Susan Quale - May 14th, 2011
I remember Roger from SSHS and his kindness to me then. One of the nicest things ever said to me was a genuine compliment from Roger at our 25th HS reunion. I will never forget it, or him.
Steve Mann - May 4th, 2011
I knew Roger from way back and we were on his farewell tour.
He knew that he was dying from the chemicals used in the Vietnam
war and he sought out the friends he wanted to see before he died.
We would get occasional emails over the years and then we got a phone call.
Roger came over for dinner and we spent the evening going over old memories. He knew exactly what was happening to him, and he said that he wanted to spend time with his old friends while he was still here. We were grateful that he included Vicki and me.
