Highlights of your life since graduation: I was married in 1964 and have 2 children...Jeffrey (43 years) and Marla (41 years) Jeffrey lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife and 2 children Zachary (15 years) and Kate (13 years). Marla lives in Pittsburgh with her husband, Hallie (10 years) and Ava (6 years)

When my children were young, I owned a plant business with a friend. We did interior decorating with plants and hosted informative plant parties. I then worked as a teachers aide in special education.

When my kids were in school full time, I went back to a real job. I worked in the Purchasing Department of Highland Park Hospital for 5 years. I then left the hospital and worked for Mainstreet Department Stores (now Kohls)in their purchasing department until they were sold. I was lucky and was hired by Crate & Barrel as senior buyer in operational purchasing. I worked my way to Purchasing Manager and 6 years ago was promoted in Director of Purchasing. In my position, I purchased fixtures, lighting, packaging and all operational supplies. I was directly involved in store openings across the country. I retired the beginning of February,2011 and I've been busy "finding myself"

I have many hobbies including gardening, knitting and reading. My husband is a photographer and we both enjoy traveling and taking pictures. One of our favorite places is Costa Rica.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: My fondest memories are friends, sorority and fraternity parties.

Also..,going to Peter Pan on 71st street for french fries and a coke!

Sidney Zisook

City: Del Mar
Country: US
State / Province: CA
Grade school attended: O'Keef (1 day), Bryn Mar (2 years) and Coles
Highlights of your life since graduation: UC Berkeley in the 60s was everything it was cracked up to be. Then I returned to Chicago for medical school at Loyola; I spent the bulk of my last year last year of med school in SF where I met my wife-to-be, Karen Sherber (who knew Steve Tiersky at Wash U). After an internship at Michael Reese, I completed a Residency in Psychiatry at Harvard/MGH. We got stationed in El Paso for my 2 years in the Army, where I learned that winters could include tennis in the sun. Therefore, I took my first academic position running an outpatient department and medical student teaching program at a brand new medical school, the University of Texas at Houston. In 1981, we relocated to UC San Diego where I joined Steve Shuchter for outpatient teaching, clinical work and research on bereavement and depression. Later, I became Residency Training Director at UCSD and continue to run a teaching program and dabble in research on depression, bereavement and suicide prevention. Karen and I have 3 children: Stephanie (a Psychiatrist and mother of 2 beautiful girls, Alexis and Samantha, with one more on the way), Daniel (a Medical Informatics Specialist and father of 2 handsome young men, Keaton and Wyatt) and Rebecca (a teacher/psychologist who has our oldest grandson, Sam, and our youngest granddaughter, Sarah - obviously also handsome and beautiful). Karen is retired from schoolroom teaching, but still tutors from our home. I have no plans for retirement myself, but do look forward to resuming my soccer and baseball coaching ‘careers’ when the grandchildren get a tad older.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Loved South Shore, had great friends and enduring memories of PALS. I have never been in a more competitive academic environment. I join several others in highlighting the incredible teaching and mentorship of Miss Annon. I've got a scheduling conflict and won't be able to make it to the reunion. My loss!
