Highlights of your life since graduation: The South Shore High School days are long in the past

Oh why did I want to grow up so fast!

The trig test or Saturday night date

Were the worries of the day

Little did I know what was coming my way

So here I am, 50 years after high school

And everything is pretty cool

I have been married for 48 years

Three children and five grandchildren bring me much cheer

I Spent thirty years teaching kids of all kinds

This has always been a passion of mine

Playing bridge and exercise classes keep me on the ball

But being with family and friends(new and old) is best of all

As long as everyone is healthy and fine

Then life is good and that's the bottom line

Wishing all my "old" classmates years filled with health and happiness.

Highlights of your life since graduation: Two wonderful sons, John and Mike, three terrific step-daughters, seven grand-children...and a couple of great-grandchildren, too...and, of course, a great "bride" for so many years. To me, this is unbelievable!!!

John lives in Manila, Philippines and works for Coca-Cola while Mike is a Professor of Asian Studies at University of California (Santa Barbara) and is an accomplished author.

(My kids are my "idols" and I often tell that that, when I "grow up," I want to be just like them!)

I was recently elected to harness racing's Communicator's Corner Hall of Fame, located in Goshen, N.Y.

It was a humbling honor!

I have also been an auctioneer for many years and still host some television shows for our Public Television Station in Miami.

I still "call" about 100 races a year for the track to keep my vocal cords and brain active.

With the kids gone, we still have two "children" around the house--Nilla and Pistachio...a cockatiel and quaker parrot that we love.

(Our interest in birds began in 2003 when one flew on my shoulder and "adopted" me!

Life is, indeed, a blessing and, as we all age a bit, I realize that "age" is the price we pay for life!!!

I am very happy that there are still so many "survivors" from our class and grieve about the ones we have lost.

Our class was very special.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Gosh, there are many.

I just came across a picture of South Shore winning the City Bowling Championship in 1959. I was a member of that team...and proud of it!

(I was Illinois State Bowling Champion in 1970 but don't participate much these days.)

Other memories...Col. Applegran the gym teacher...Ms Mooney, English...Ruth Kopel, Algebra...Ms. Curtis, Espanol...Sid Kaz (Phy Ed teacher from whom I heard a few months ago...Roger Lange playing great shortstop for SSHS Baseball team...and Rae Berss, who sat right behind me for four years every morning in Ms. Cormany's homeroom!

There are many others...but...just not enough space here.

It's been a great ride!
