Highlights of your life since graduation:
I have been happily married to Judy (Feldman SSHS'62) since 1965. We moved to LA in 1968 after I completed Northwestern Medical School and have lived there with the exception of two years in USAF. We have two children ( Leslee 42, a writer) and Matthew (39, a computer businessman). We are blessed with 4 young grandchildren with whom we spend considerable time. I continue to work full-time as a radiologist (34 years) at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center and was Director of Resident Training for 15 years. Judy had a successful Interior Design practice for over 30 years. We travel frequently and recently returned from Turkey. I was a runner for 30 years but now exercise daily in our pool. We have maintained a close friendship with Steve Shuchter who performed with his band at both my 50th and 60th birthday celebrations. Steve and I also play golf together (not at the same level) and have celebrated birthdays, weddings and anniversaries with our spouses. |

Highlights of your life since graduation:
After SSHS I started at Navy Pier and graduated from Coe College in Iowa. I went to U of I for Medical school and did my Ophthalmology training at Michael Reese Hospital. I spent 2 years in the Army at Fort Knox as director of the eye service - and I must admit we watched the gold very carefullly! Came back to Chicago and started a private practice in the Loop and the northwest suburban Wheeling/Buffalo Grove area. I married Lois Lipton (SSHS'63)and we had a daughter who nows lives in Baltimore with my only grand-daughter. I happily remarried Mary Beth Winter (Bradwell '57) in 1978 and we have 2 daughters. Mary Beth is looking forward to seeing all her Bradwell friends. I recently sold my Loop practice and I am still practicing Ophthalmology in Buffalo Grove. The commute to Downtown is something I don't miss at all. This is allowing me more time to spend on my golf game and at our other home in Scottsdale. |

Memories or anything else you'd like to share:
My hobbies are travelling, Golf and Scuba diving. We have been all over the world: camping in the Amazon jungle, safaring in Africa, gawking at the artworks of St. Petersburg and Paris, inspired by the pyramids of Egypt, the temples of Japan, The Taj Mahal, The Great Wall of China, The Great Barrier Reef and Ayers Rock, The Galapagos and Machu Pichu. There are many more places that we have been to and I really should be a travel agent! As you can tell, I have enjoyed my life's experiences and I have no regrets. Although this may sound like an obituary, it really isn't. I am getting ready for the "retirement" adventure hoping to combine part-time work with the new opportunities that will follow. |

Highlights of your life since graduation:
Attended the University of Illinois in Champaign immediately after SSHS and graduated with a BS in Metallurgical Engineering Jan. 1966. After UIUC, I started graduate school and met my wife, Lynn, at Penn State (PSU). We had the same dorm room at different times. In 1968, I received my MS in Metallurgy, Lynn received her BS in Elementary Education, and we got married. In 1971, I received my PhD in Materials Science. In 1971, Lynn and I moved to Wilmington, Delaware, and I went to work as a materials engineer for the Westinghouse Electric Corp. Steam Turbine Division. We subsequently had 2 kids, Lauren and Todd. who were born in Delaware. In 1983, Westinghouse moved us to Longwood, Florida as part of a corporate relocation. After 14 years with Westinghouse, I sought a better opportunity with the Lockheed Martin Corporation. In 1999, I became a Director and Chief Technologist. I retired from Lockheed Martin Corp. in February, 2010. Retirement only lasted for two months, and I started a research and engineering consulting company to take up time. I am on several university boards as well as at the Orlando Science Center. |

Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Looking back on my career, it's amazing how good an education that I received at SSHS. Through the years, the basic technical skills that I learned in Mrs. Coleman's biology class, Mr. Wilson's physics class, Mr. Mongerson's chemistry class, and Mr. Sommers mechanical drawing class all were great building blocks. But more surprisingly, the knowledge gained in Dr. Annan's English class on the analysis of literature, Miss Bond's French class vocabulary and grammar, and Music Appreciation Class leading to a lifetime love of classical music has been used throughout my life. |
