Kiya Immergluck

City: Chicago
Country: US
State / Province: IL
Highlights of your life since graduation: I kept going to school because it was cheap & more fun than getting a job! I got a BA in Education at U of I; had a fellowship in Special Ed at KU; got 2 Master's at Loyola in LA: Guidance & Counseling & Ed Psych & finally a PhD in Psych at Columbia Pacific University in California.

I have traveled extensively. I lived in Israel for one year (finding my new name "Kiya" meaning "Because of God"). Got teased a lot: "With a name like 'Immergluck.' you changed your FIRST name?" But "Immergluck" means "always lucky" in German, so "because of God, I'm always lucky." It has been quite true.

I lived in California for 10 years & moved back just in time for the big snow storm of 1978!

I have been a Psychotherapist and Addictions Counselor for 30 years. In the last 7 years, I have also been a Certified Coach in Energy Psychology.

Check out my website: www.eft-tap.com.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: I survived a bout with breast cancer in 1994 & have recently offered a series of free teleclasses with a group of Energy Practitioners from around the world for cancer survivors, caregivers, & anyone impacted by cancer. Everyone is welcome to listen to the recordings by signing up at: www.ProjectGivingHope.com.

High School was pretty awful for me. I felt awkward & out of place, but the years since then have been wonderful. I am excited to visit with old friends at the Reunion.

Donna Isenberg (Skidell)

City: Highland Park, IL 60035
Grade school attended: Horace Mann
Highlights of your life since graduation: In 1964 I married Steve Isenberg (Hyde Park 1960).We have two daughters, Barbra who is a life coach and Rachel who is a psychotherapist. Both live Fort Collins, Colorado and each have two children.

After volunteering for several organizations supporting young mothers and their children I became a labor and delivery coach.I found this to be very satisfying until making that commitment prohibited me from traveling to Colorado when I wanted to go.

We purchased a home there in 2007 and travel back and forth frequently.

I enjoy painting, reading and exercise,

and being with my grandchildren. Fortunately Diane has two grandchildren who live nearby so I get to see them often, sort of like having two more of my own.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: I remember high school as being a time when friendships were foremost and teachers were old!!! Carl's, the Jeffery theater,T Hut, Mitchell's, and walking home down the rail road tracks are some of my favorite memories.

Getting caught driving at lunchtime. (Ms.Bird pulled up next to me at a stop light)was about the most rebellious act I committed. Sometimes I drove over to Hyde Park High to visit Steve during lunch period!

We were so fortunate to have grown up in a time of simplicity and peace.

Betty Jacobs (Lazaroff)

City: Culver City
Country: US
State / Province: CA
Grade school attended: Coles
Highlights of your life since graduation: After graduating from the University of Illinois with a degree in Communications, I joined the Broadcasting Commission of the Chicago Board of Rabbis as a production associate. Two years later, I was named director of the agency. I wrote and produced television shows for all of the stations in Chicago: documentaries, interview programs drama, children's programs, musicals and controversial talk shows.

Marriage in 1971 to Sidney J. Jacobs, a rabbi and journalist, took me to Los Angeles, where I joined the faculty of Los Angeles City College as a media consultant, earned a Master's in Mass Communication from California State University, Northridge and embarked on a career as a free-lance writer. Our marriage, which ended with Sid's death in 2001, was a partnership of soul mates. Sid focused his ministry on social justice, enriching our lives with involvement with Cesar Chavez and the farm workers, animal rights leaders and other activists in a variety of causes. Together, Sid and I wrote three books; "Clues about Jews for People Who Aren't," "122 Clues for Jews Whose Children Intermarry" and "Jewish Clues to Your Health and Happiness." We appeared on a number of radio and TV shows.

As a community college professor, first at Los Angeles City College and since 1983 at West Los Angeles College, I have taught a variety of disciplines: television producing and directing, journalism, English, Speech, Cinema and Theater.

In 2003, I was elected chair of the Language Arts Division at West, a position I still hold.

I am a vegan, feminist, animal advocate, collector of dear friends, runner and tennis player, who is filled with gratitude for the blessings of my life.

My biography appears in Who's Who in America, Who's Who in the World and Who's Who Among American Women.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: I have a vivid memory of Miss Mackie reading all of the parts in Macbeth.

What an inspiration.
