Highlights of your life since graduation:
Married my high school sweet heart Rita Gross in 1969. We have 2 boys Todd and Greg. Each of my boychics has a daughter. I had a 30 year career as an International Commodity Trader and circumnavigated the globe numerous times conducting business with major corporations and governments in 75 countries. On my 50th birthday, I free fell 35 seconds in Vail CO and when I landed I told Rita that I was retiring and we were moving to Scottsdale AZ. After 6 months of doing triathlons and hiking in AZ and after a trip to the far east, I was bored and I decided to open DesignersDirect.com and sold designer apparel to 100 countries in 8 languages. |

Highlights of your life since graduation:
Married since 1964 to Richard, have 3 children, Jodi 1966, Michael 1968, and Sanford 1971, 4 wonderful grandchildren all living within 15 minutes. When moving to SChaumbrug in 1969,I started the Womens American ORT movement west. Started new chapters and a large Northwest region becoing President for a few years. In 1976 when I got into real estate I had to step back. I was a wonderful experience and I was an Israel Bond nominee for 1977. After that between work and the kids I had to step back devote my time to other things. It is a wonderful memory. Richard is retired now so I will keep working in the field I still love but taking it a little slower |
|
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: I do not remember too much about school but I do remember the social life. The sing, football games at the Midway, Rainbow Beach, the JCC, and of course our great restuarants. Have been in touch with some old friends in the last year or two and would love to hear from some others. I am looking forward to this reunion, I have not been to one before. Looking forward to seeing and reconecting with old friends. |

Highlights of your life since graduation: Married my high school sweatheart Sharon Steinberg from Bowen high school.Lived in Hoffman Estaes for 35 years before moving out to Carpentersville where we have retired. We have been blessed with a wonderful family of 4 children all living in close proximity and 5 grandchildren. Have enjoyed some wonderful trips including a memorable one to Israel. Spent most of my life in different aspects of retail buisness. Currently president of our congregation. | |
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: The good times at the JCC on many week nights. The parties at Jeff and Harvey Wolf,s house. Going to Peter Pan after movies at the Jeffrey theatre. Carls hot dogs in that little shack which only about 10 people could fit into. The lasting memory of SSHS is going thru a geometry semester with Mrs. Rice and her ranting and yelling at students working at the blackboard. |

Highlights of your life since graduation: I graduated from the University of Illinois at Champaign-Urbana in June, 1965, with a Bachelor's degree in Spanish. I received my Master's degree in Spanish and Romance Languages from Loyola University in 1975. I taught various levels of Spanish at several Board of Education schools. Two of the more interesting jobs were at Whitney Young High School and in the International Baccalaureate Program at Lincoln Park High School. I then took early retirement after teaching 35 years for the Board of Education. Post-retirement I taught for a few years at Francis Parker and St. Ignatius College Prep, as well as Columbia College and U. of Illinois. |

Highlights of your life since graduation:
I attended Purdue University for 2 years, was surprised that there was no student orchestra (remember how I walked around SSHS with a french horn?), then U of Michigan for a degree in math and grade 5-12 teacher cert. I taught high school for 11 years, then community college until I retired Aug. 2010. I was married for 25 years, then divorced, and I have 2 kids, now 21 and 23. I currently live with a wonderful lady (guess that means not exactly married). I still freelance as a horn player; I owe the musical part of my life to Sam Gorbach, who persuaded me to study french horn and give up the trumpet. |

Memories or anything else you'd like to share:
In my copious free time, I contribute to oedilf.com , which is constructing a dictionary of English where every word will be defined in the form of a limerick(!) Look for me there; my nom-de-lim is Goldie. Here's a sample of this project: ====== drive out ======= When I worry that nobody cared, And I wander around lost and scared, Then a couple of beers Help me drive out my fears. I feel confident, loved, and impaired. ======== affable ======== Our existence is frail and precarious, So be cheery and fun and gregarious! An affable day Keeps the doctor away — Carpe diem, then die. Then they bury us. ======= diplocardiac ======== When she says she loves him and loves you, When her heart is divided in two, She's your great tell-it-straight Diplocardiac mate. 50-50 your union pulls through. ========= deposit =========== I'm a very old dog, yes indeed. My mobility's all gone to seed. So look in your closet — I left a deposit; I took a big dump and I peed. ============================== Greetings to all! |
