Classmate Profiles

To edit your profile or add photos please follow these steps:
1) Find your name on the list of Classmates below and click on the "Edit Profile" button that appears to the right of your name.  If you don't find your name immediately, try searching by first name or maiden name or last name.
2) Enter a Username and Password that will be required to edit your profile in the future.
*If the administrator of the website has already provided your email address, you will instead be asked to enter your email address, and the Username and Password will be sent to you by email. Once you receive the email, proceed to step 3.
3) Edit or add your information to your profile.
4) Upload Then and Now photos by clicking on the "Browse" button that appears below Then and Now and find the image on your computer.
5) Click on the Submit button at the bottom of the form to save the changes.

Please note that your profile will temporarily be removed the website after your first edit; however, it will re-appear shortly.

If you try to edit your profile more than once, you will need to follow the same instructions; however, you will be asked to enter the Username and Password that you created the first time that you edited your profile. If you forget the username and password, please click on the link that says, "I forgot my username and password." The username and password will only be sent to the email address listed in the profile. If you have changed your email address or didn't enter an email address, you will need to use the Contact Us page to ask the administrator of the website to add an email or edit the profile.

Highlights of your life since graduation: I have been married for 44 years, and we have two wonderful children. My husband and I have lived in Boston, Los Angeles, Evanston, St. Louis, and Baltimore.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Circumstances have taken me very far from South Shore. Living in all these cities has provided me with a very rich and varied life filled with invaluable memories.

Highlights of your life since graduation: After graduating from Roosevelt University, with a degree in business, my father and I started gear manufacturing companies. General Dynamics purchased the companies in 2008 leaving 225 employees with intact jobs.



I have been married to Nancy Israel for 45 years and we have two amazing and talented children and one precocious grandchild. We raised our children in Flossmoor, Illinois and moved back to Chicago 18 years ago.



In 1995, I was diagnosed with cancer which was successfully treated with a stem cell transplant in January, 1997.



In my spare time, I play golf, collect and restore vintage corvettes, work as a consultant, and go on photo shoots. I enjoy taking photoshop classes and listening to public radio, especially Car Talk.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: My favorite activity during high school was playing basketball for the Tars.

Highlights of your life since graduation: I was a photographers model for 11 years and did 10 t.v. commercials. Gave birth to three children and adopted two. I tap dance hence my e-mail: tappinpat@hotmail.com. I love to golf and make quilts. I've traveled some but I'm really a homebody.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: High school was a wonderful time in my life. I wish the kids today could experience what we had.

Highlights of your life since graduation: I have been married to my husband Den for 45 years. We have 4 great kids and 5 fantastic grandchildren (soon to be 6).

I graduated from Chicago Teachers College and taught in the Chicago Public Schools for 13 years before giving my full attention to raising my family.

I have lived in Palos Heights for the last 25 years and I am very blessed to have a close family and loving friends.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: I have only great memories and experiences from SSHS and look forward to reuniting with many old friends.

Highlights of your life since graduation: PhD: George Washington Univ. Professor of Political Science, Nassau College, Garden City, NY. Resident of the Big Apple since 1970. Semi-retired since 2005. In between, plenty of traveling, plenty of dancing, a little bit of writing, and more blessings than I can count.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Looking forward to our reunion and grateful to all who worked so hard to make it happen. It's great to read these profiles and see how much our classmates have accomplished since we said farewell to South Shore so many years ago!1

Highlights of your life since graduation: After College, I married David Gerstel (SSHS Class of 58) in 1965. We have two daughters 42 and 39,and 3 grandchildren (1 girl, 2 boys, ages 9, 7, 4).



I was a Legal Secretary for a number of years, housewife for awhile, helped David in his Wine Business and then became a Travel Consultant (for over 20 years). Raised our children in Glenview. Did extensive traveling (which we love). When David sold his Wine Wholesale, Import, Distributorship (Heritage Wine Cellars) in 1995, we moved to Scottsdale, AZ full time to get out of the Chicago Winters.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Loved my High School Years.
