Highlights of your life since graduation: Although the term 'highlight' seems to imply a rather transient event, the two highlights of my life have been very long-lasting: (1) my extremely happy 42-year marriage to Roy Dunbar Patterson; (2) my 35-year career as a scientist with the Medical Research Council in Cambridge UK, where I am privileged to do research on the impact of brain disease on language and memory. My work has been generously recognised: I have been elected a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences, a Fellow of the British Academy, and a Fellow (and Wine Steward) of Darwin College Cambridge. Lucky me!
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: It was a special place and time, South Shore High School in the late 1950's and early 1960's. Despite the inevitable anxieties of teen-aged life (in my view, the best thing about being a teenager is when you finally manage to stop being one), I think that those years -- both educationally and socially -- gave me a grounding from which to go out into a wider world with my head held high(ish).

Jill Pearl (Horwitz)

City: Basalt
Country: US
State / Province: CO
Grade school attended: Bradwell
Highlights of your life since graduation: After High School I attended Roosevelt University and then worked in advertising. In 1968 I met one of my former husbands Ed Pearl, the father of my two daughters, Samantha and Branden. We traveled extensively, skiing throughout Europe before falling in love with Aspen, CO. We made it our second home. We divorced in 1978, and I continued to travel while raising my two girls.

I re-married Howard Abraham in 1988, and guess what? I continued to travel, eventually making Aspen our first home. One of the highlights of these years, was the extraordinary experience of climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro at the age of 51. Howard passed in 1997.

Currently, I am living in Basalt, CO, a small town down the road from Aspen. I am fortunate to have both my daughters living close by - we love to hike together with their dogs, my only grandchildren...so far! These days I am working on my golf and tennis, and enjoying mt. biking with friends.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: Close friendships, one still maintained with Bobbi Goodrich (Abrams), Phi Omega Sorority, eating at White Castle's (frozen sliders from the grocery store will never, ever do justice), the T-hut, throwing the infamous 18th birthday bash for Fran Lewis and Bobbi Abrams while my parents were out of town - wow were we wild! Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Carol Peckler (Halter)

City: Des Plaines

State / Province: IL

Highlights of your life since graduation: I found Barbara Click.

My son Brad is an emergency room doctor at Tampa General Hospital and living in St Petersburg, Florida.

My daughter Kim is a professional working in child care in a large hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.

My husband Gary is a retired basketball coach who was honored in the Illinois High School Basketball Coaches Association Hall of Fame.
Memories or anything else you'd like to share: After high school graduation I attended Southern Illinois University in Carbondale. I graduated with a degree in Sociology in 1967. After college I worked for Time Magazine in downtown Chicago. I then moved on to work in a law firm specializing in family law, probate, personal injury, and insurance fraud. I then became a travel agent for conventions all over the country. In addition to the above I also have owned my own baking business called "Sweet After Thoughts". I am still taking orders for my baking business at home.

I can't wait to see everyone at the reunion.
