ashub@comcast.net (773) 442-6155 (847) 634-2969 1148 Brandywyn Ct. Buffalo Grove IL US 60089-1171 University Administrator Married 2 Bryn Mawr Immediately after high school graduation, I went to work for my first of three summers at Arlington Park Race Track, where I collected parking fees from motorists as they entered the race track property. I spent my next two summers at the Chicago Sun-Times, first as a copy boy, then as a communications center clerk, where I was the first person to see all the news as it came across the wires.

I earned a B.S. in psychology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1965. I earned an M.A. (social psychology) and a Ph.D. (measurement) from Loyola University Chicago in 1968 and 1977, respectively. In between my M.A. and Ph.D. I studied at the L.L. Thurstone Psychometric Laboratory of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

In 1968 I married Susan Barasch, a north sider from Amundsen High School; we have two grown children, Jonathan and Deborah.

I have had two careers: corporate and academic. I held a number of management positions at Science Research Associates, Inc. (SRA), then an IBM subsidiary, in Chicago; was Director of the Test Publications Division of Psychological Services, Inc. (PSI) in Los Angeles; and was Vice President and General Manager of a division of National Computer Systems, Inc. (NCS) in Minneapolis. At Northeastern Illinois University, I hold the rank of Professor of Management and have taught Organizational Behavior and Human Resource Management. My research has been in the areas of employee honesty, in entrepreneurship education, and most recently in the human resource management contribution to supply chain management. I have served as Chair of the Management and Marketing Department, Coordinator of the MBA Program, Chair of the University Faculty Senate, Associate Dean, and Interim Dean of the College of Business and Management. My current position is Associate Provost, where I serve as university contract administrator regarding all aspects of the collective bargaining agreement with the faculty.

I was the lead author of a published battery of 20 pre-employment selection tests, “The PSI Basic Skills Tests for Business, Industry, and Government.”

I ran in three Chicago Marathons, successfully completing the 1980 Chicago Marathon. In Los Angeles, I ran in a 10-K with Jane Fonda, except that I did not realize that I was standing right next to her before the race. I am a licensed psychologist in the State of Illinois and was also licensed in California and Minnesota.

Recently, I have taken up extracurricular acting, appearing at my university's Stage Center Theatre in "Around the World in Eighty Days" and in "Bleacher Bums."
South Shore (high school and neighborhood) was very special in time and place.

I have good memories of being co-captain of the track team with Bernie Wolfberg (I wish I could find my track letters and my ribbons); being editor-in-chief of The Shore Line newspaper (including a one-on-one interview with George Halas); winning the “Sing”; and memories of Miss Mackie and Miss Justus.

If only I had saved my baseball card collection and my comic books!

I have so many fond memories of South Shore...I have been envious of those who have been able to get together to plan this(though you're probably sick of each other by now). I am excited at the prospect of seeing classmates and only hope we'll have enough time to spend renewing our relationships next year.

April 22, 1943 marlene@writeme.com (847) 835-8848 287 Linden Ave. Glencoe IL US 60022 Realtor Single Again Bradwell, O'Keeffe, Horace Mann I wanted to be a teacher ever since that first day in Bradwell Kindergarten, and after college, I did teach for a number of years. In 1968 I married Edward Samson and we had two children: Jeremy and Rachel. Our precious and gifted son died at the age of four from a childhood cancer. That sadness never goes away. Edward and I divorced many years ago. I have been in my second career as a Realtor on the North Shore for 28 years. Rachel graduated from Brandeis University and is working in New York. In 2000 my daughter and I visited Israel together. I am patiently waiting for a son-in-law and grandchildren! I remember eating gravy on french fries with lunch every day in the cafeteria! In those days I could eat anything and never gain a pound. I have fond memories of the schools, the library, the beach, etc. I vividly remember the smell of Mitchell's and Cunis ice cream parlors. South Shore was a wonderful place to grow up. We walked everywhere and our world seemed so safe. BBG was a big part of my life in high school. I am looking forward to seeing everyone at the reunion. I love reminiscing about the "good old days," and I hope my future days will include a special guy with whom I can share the rest of my life. (If you know someone, my phone number is posted above!)
