January 29, 1943 capttacker@gmail.com 5034402751 92672 Madison Road Astoria OR US 97103 Tuna boat Captain/EMTI Married 4 Bradwell After SSH I attended Lincoln College in Lincoln, Ill. for a year. I then spend 4 1/2 years in the US Navy; I was stationed at NAS Memphis, NAS Whidbey Island, Wa., Naval Amphibious Base Coronado, Ca., and was honorably discharged at NAS Miramar outside of San Diego. I married my 1st wife and had a son and two daughters. My next 8 years were spent as a commercial diver mostly in Calif. I then ran boats all over the North and South Pacific for another ten years. A new phase of my life started and I met my 2nd wife that I've been with for 37 years and we have a great 25 year old son. We purchase a 65 foot offshore racing sailboat and visited most of the Caribbean Islands, the East Coast of the U.S. and ended up in San Francisco with the boat three years later and had to sell it and settle down before we were completely broke. We purchased a tuna boat in 1985 that carries 50 tons of frozen tuna and fished both the North and South Pacific for albacore tuna. We still have the boat to this day. I only fish the boat June through Oct. in the North Pacific with my 4 man crew including my youngest son now. I have been working part time as an Emergency Medical Technician for the same company for almost 20 years during the off fishing season. I have also been a volunteer fireman and Captain for our local fire dept. for many years. We have lived on the Columbia River for over 20 years. I am very thankful to have had a very colorful and exciting life and I'm still alive to tell about it. South Shore High School, The wresting coach Mr. Conforti, sneaking cigarettes during recess, Rainbow Beach, Carl's. I regret missing the reunion; I didn't even know anything about it till I stumbled on this website a short time ago.

I used to say that I was one of the people who made the top half of the class possible. Occasionally, I did show up late to school and was escorted by a cute freshman (Ricki Rodkin - - SSHS Class of '64)to homeroom and received some wrath from Betty Lee. Who knew that in 2011 that cute freshman who escorted me from the principal's office to the homeroom meeting would be celebrating 44 years of marriage to me? Of course, I didn't go out with her then (fool that I was) but fortunately our paths crossed six months after my graduation...and the rest is history.

I attended the University of Illinois (Champaign-Urbana), then Roosevelt before finishing up as an undergrad at Southern Illinois University...followed by graduate work back at the University of Illinois.

While I was in college, I worked st several radio stations and had the opportunity of interviewing a vareity of celebrities...from Woody Allen to The Smothers Brothers...from Hugh Hefner to Robert Goulet. It was a lot of fun!

Some of the highlights of my life...both personal and professional
- - besides being married to a great woman for over 40 years, would be filming (who had camcorders way back then?) both our children's births at Michael Reese Hospital (may it rest in peace).

Our oldest, Debbie, lives in Atlanta and runs her own networking and markerting company, RE:FOCUS on Careers, and speaks nationally at conferences throughout the southeast.

Danny, our youngest, has been married for over 10 years to Christy and they've given us two super grandchildren, Ben 7 and Delaney 5. Danny is Director of Student Life at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL and is due to have his Doctorate of Education added to his resume by the time you read this. Christy is the Program Coordinator for the University of Florida's Center for Pre-Colligiate Education and Training.

Back when I was in the advertising business in Chicago, one of our clients was WFYR Radio. I wrote and produced the station's TV comercials with Dick Clark, a great guy to work with! A few months later, Dick brought his oldies show to Milwaukee's Summerfest. Ricki and I were able to get back stage to watch Chubby Checker, Chuck Berry, and a host of others. I also wrote and produced commercials for Courtesy Home Furnishings (complete with Howard Miller and his bad toupee), as well as directing Forest Tucker and Howard Miller pitching land in Arizona.

Other highlights - - Pitching for WFYR's softball team and playing against Phil Donahue (when his syndicated TV Show was taped at the WGN TV studios) and pitching a softball game between games at a White Sox's Twi-nighter. The late Harry Caray actually did part of the game's play by play. And, yes, I was the winning pitcher in both games (a far cry from AZA ball).

After the snowstorm of '79, I sold my advertising agency and I never spent another winter in Chicago. Although I was working in advertising here in Florida, I really wanted to get back into DJing (after all, my classmates did vote me "most talkative" in our class). From DJing parties we developed our company into a full service entertainment agency and event planning company with a promotional products offshoot. I still enjoy doing parties...especially for the 50+ crowd. Earlier this year, I emceed the 50th class reunion for Miami High School. which certainly prepared me for our reunion.

Ricki and I look forward to reuniting a lot of old friendships, eating deep dish pizza and being amazed at how young we all look!
