After graduation I attended Yale College, then Yale Medical School, marrying Terri Distenfield in 1965. I became an obstetrician/gynecologist with a subspecialty of Maternal-Fetal medicine. After two years in the Navy in Oakland CA we returned to New Haven, then moved to Providence RI in 1982. I served as Professor and Chair of the ObGyn Dept at Brown until 2008, when I "retired" (I now work three days a week) to do the things I most enjoy...seeing patients with diabetes in pregnancy, doing research, mentoring, and pursuing my hobbies of wine making (I have a very small vineyard in my back yard) and photography.
Terri and I have three grown children (Becky, a recovering attorney who is principal of a charter high school in Providence; Rachel, a practicing veterinarian in East Providence; David, a consultant in social media living in Atlanta). We have four grandchildren (Noah, Milly,Jacob and Sarah) and we are fortunate to get to see them most Sundays since they live in Providence and we live about 25 miles away in Jamestown,on an island in the middle of Narragansett Bay, which is a great place for the kids to enjoy the water. We love to travel, and last year visited the Galapagos Islands. This year we are planning a trip to Antarctica. My Boyajian, our sophomore biology teacher, who taught us about evolution on the 100th anniversary of Darwin's "Origin of Species" and kindled my lifelong desire to see the Galapagos Islands...which was just fulfilled last year and was everything I had hoped for. Margaret Annan who still lives in my superego whenever I sit down to write... Florence Bergstrand...Latin Class lives on in all of our memories. Terri and I visited Pompeii a couple of years ago and that brought back so many experiences. And all of the other wonderful teachers who made South Shore High School the wonderful environment for learning and maturing. I just uploaded our graduation picture from Bradwell and it brought back memories; does anyone else remember that we sang "Bali Hai" and "The cuckoo cries" at graduation? |

In my twenties I spent time living in Japan, which created a lifelong interest in Asian cultures and a love of travel. It could be said that I landed in a foreign country when I ended up in Texas! I've always been someone who loves to observe and try to understand why people do what they do, so I chose a profession which allows me to do that all day long! Fortunately, people derive some benefit from that, which is an ongoing highlight for me - it's very gratifying work. My son, David,is married to a great girl, Stephanie, and is a Doctor of Oriental Medicine in Dallas. He lived in Bangkok after college and has always had the same Asia connection that I've had. Stephanie is climbing the ladder at Whole Foods and loves it there. And I love all the wonderful WF lotions and soaps that turn up on Mother's Day!
It's thrilling to me that so many of us will be together in August. Like everyone else, I'm amazed at the passage of time. Very excited that we'll be going back to the old neighborhood! |

After College, I married David Gerstel (SSHS Class of 58) in 1965. We have two daughters 42 and 39,and 3 grandchildren (1 girl, 2 boys, ages 9, 7, 4).
I was a Legal Secretary for a number of years, housewife for awhile, helped David in his Wine Business and then became a Travel Consultant (for over 20 years). Raised our children in Glenview. Did extensive traveling (which we love). When David sold his Wine Wholesale, Import, Distributorship (Heritage Wine Cellars) in 1995, we moved to Scottsdale, AZ full time to get out of the Chicago Winters. Loved my High School Years. Miss T-Hut Hanging out at the JCC and the bowling alley on 71st Street. Sororities, Fraternities, The Sing, and the easy times growing up and never feeling scared. South Shore was a unique place to grow up in. |

discovering my place in the world.. filling in the blanks and finding my passion and life's work.
My wonderful son, Scott, Excellent health and all the wonderful years and people I have met along my journey. I live in Santa fe and founded a photographic workshop company called The West...Redefined (www.thewestredefined.com.) I travel worldwide on my photographic safaris and tours and teach post production intensive workshops in my beautiful studio in Santa Fe. I am a team member of Nik software and just finished my first live webinar on how to produce fine art imagery using photoshop and Nik software. How thrilled I am to have the opportunity of seeing everyone from the good old days again and what a great job Kathy Rand and the committee have done in organizing this 50 yr reunion. I attended the '87 reunion and cannot wait for this one! |

Married Michael Feingold (South Shore 1958) and had 2 daughters; Eileen and Debi. We lived in Chicago, El Paso, TX and eventually ended up in Costa Mesa, CA. Graduated from UC Fullerton '80 with a degree in Accounting; my profession for over 30 years. Married Steven Morabito in 1983 and grew the family to four with his two sons, Mark and Craig. Steven and I lived in Huntington Beach CA and eventually moved to Henderson, NV where we remain today. Four miles from our house is a hot dog stand that brings great memories of eating hot dogs at Carl's. Steven and I enjoy traveling and are proud to include North and South America, Asia, Europe, United Kingdom, New Zealand and Australia, to our list of travels. Never made it to Greece, but there is still time! Our children live in Washington, Michigan, Florida and Mexico. For the first time in 27 years we all came together in one location to celebrate my husband's 80th birthday. Most recently I added editor to my resume and I helped to edit a seven years in the making semi-autobiographical novel that my husband wrote: “Terranova, A Remembrance”. It is an understatement to say that I learned a great deal about my husband and his family in editing this book. Steven and I have 5 grandchildren and 1 great grandson. I enjoy reading, knitting, crocheting and baking. Last Thanksgiving, I had enormous joy as I taught my granddaughter how to make the challah bread that my own grandfather taught me to make when I was a little girl. Things on my bucket list: zip lining, taking a cross-country trip on a Harley, seeing a Verde opera at La Scala, and retiring to Mexico.
